Instant ramen noodles don’t have to be boring! Try our better instant ramen noodle recipe with hard-boiled eggs, pork chops, and fresh spring onion.

My parents-in-law introduced me to this simple but amazing dish. I remember eating this for the first time when we were visiting their home back in Hawaii. I really enjoyed it! From then on, this has become my go-to upgrade instant ramen recipe. If you like instant ramen noodles but are not sure how to make them more nutritious then you’ll enjoy watching this video and you may want to make this recipe right after.
Soft or Hard-boiled Eggs
- 5-8 cups water, room temperature (for boiling the eggs)
- 2-4 large eggs
- 2 pork chops (bone-in), grilled and chopped (you may fry the meat if you prefer)
- 2 stalks spring onions, finely chopped
- ½ of a medium-sized onion, chopped (I used a sweet onion)
- 5 cups water, room temp (for cooking the noodles)
- 2 oriental or soy sauce flavored instant ramen noodles
- Salt and pepper to taste
Things you’ll need
- A Grill, BBQ, or some sort of cook top for the Pork Chop.
In a pot, boil water with eggs over high heat. Cook the eggs for 6 to 8 minutes. Turn the stove off and remove it from the stove. Soak the eggs in cold water for 30 minutes to an hour. Soaking the eggs in cold water makes it easier to remove the eggshells. Set aside for later use.
Cook Pork Chops
In the meantime, in a medium-sized mixing bowl, put the pork chops and season with salt and pepper. Preheat the grill to 500°F/260°C. Clean the grill using a steel brush to remove any debris before using it. Place the pork chops and cook them for 4 minutes (covered). After 4 minutes flip the pork chops over and cook the other side for an equal time (please note that the meat is cooked when it is easy to remove from the grill). Then season with salt and pepper. Remove from the grill and put it on a plate. Chop the pork chops to the size and thickness you desired then set them aside.
Finely chop the spring onions and set them aside. Then chopped the sweet onions too and set them aside for later use.
Cook the Instant Ramen Noodles and Combine
In a pot, boil the water over medium-high heat. When water is boiling, break the instant ramen noodles in half and put them in the boiling water. Cook it for 5 to 8 minutes or until cooked but not soggy. Season with the seasoning packet that came with it. Stir to combine. Then turn the heat off. Put some noodles in a bowl and arrange the rest of the ingredients on top. Serve while the soup is still hot be careful in consuming them. Enjoy!
