I love asparagus as a side dish with baked seafood like sumptuous fillets of fish. I enjoy baking them because I love the nutty and crunchy texture as a result. This is such a healthy and easy side dish to make with only 5 ingredients on the recipe. Do not overcook to achieve that nutty and crunchy texture of the veggie. - 1 bunch fresh asparagus, ends chopped
- ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste (adjust as needed)
Item’s you’ll need
- Cutting board
- Glass bakeware or baking pan
- Measuring bowls, cups, spoons, and/or containers
- Silicone spatula
- Kitchen cloth
Preheat the Oven
Before mixing the ingredients, preheat the oven to 350°F/176°C.
Prep the Asparagus
Put the fresh asparagus on a cutting board. If it comes in bunches with a rubber band, leave the band on. Cut the ends about 3 to 4” from the bottom to remove the dry and hard parts. Wash and set aside for later.
Make the Olive Oil Mixture
In glass bakeware or baking pan, pour the olive oil. Add the paprika, then the salt and pepper (adjust to taste). Mix until well combined. Put the asparagus in the olive oil mixture, toss them around until well coated.
Bake the Asparagus
In a preheated oven, place the asparagus and bake for 10 to 12 minutes at 350°F/176°C. After 10 or 12 minutes, remove from the oven and allow to cool down for 5 minutes or until ready to use. Serve with your favorite main course and enjoy!
